Christi Azevedo, Architect
Christi Azevedo graduated from UC Berkeley with a BA in Architecture in 1992. Favoring fabrication over drafting, she began combining wood and steel to create a variety of limited edition furniture. Custom commissions soon followed and the projects expanded into larger installations and various materials. Using her own living spaces as places for experimentation, Azevedo gained intimate knowledge of the building process. This gave her an insider’s awareness of budget and constructability and the ability to push humble materials to new limits. Expanding on this experience, Azevedo Design has been providing architectural services since 2007. A commitment to green building can be seen in Azevedo’s focus on urban infill projects and a sensitivity to the value of existing architecture.
