Christi Azevedo graduated from UC Berkeley with a BA in Architecture in 1992. Favoring fabrication over drafting, she began combining wood and steel to create a variety of limited-edition furniture. Custom commissions soon followed, and the projects expanded into larger installations and various materials. Using her own living spaces as places for experimentation, Azevedo gained intimate knowledge of the building process. This gave her an insider’s awareness of budget and constructability and the ability to push humble materials to new heights.
Expanding on this experience, Azevedo Design has been providing architectural services since 2007. Predominantly remodeling historic homes in the Bay Area has proved satisfying. Working with clients to reorganize and upgrade these buildings assures them another century of use.
